Don Merrill

Don Merrill, a life long collector of "All Things Waverly", was instrumental in the founding of the

Waverly Historical Society. Don donated his vast collection of items, pictures, and memorabilia
regarding Waverly to the Waverly Historical Society. Many of the items actually pre-date the Village of Waverly itself, which at one time was; the eastern part referred to as "Factoryville", the central part referred to as "Villemont", and the western part referred to as "Shepardsville".

The Waverly Historical Society Welcomes you to come visit and enjoy this vast collection at their museum located at 435 Chemung Street Waverly, NY 14892

WAVERLY HISTORICAL SOCIETY CELEBRATED ITS FIRST YEAR!

History has a way of flying by, and the first year of existence of the Waverly Historical Society was celebrated at the museum.  With the official opening of the society’s beautiful location on Chemung St. in Waverly having taken place in the summer of 2015, it’s time to look forward to new and exciting developments.

All individuals who generously donated to the society will hopefully once again show their support by renewing their membership. July 1-June 30th marks everyone’s membership period, and the society is requesting that all members kindly donate annually to this worthy local non-profit organization.

The amazing collection of “All Things Waverly” continues to expand and grow because of these generous donations. For those who have visited our museum at 435 Chemung St., we thank you for your interest and support. Please visit waverlymuseum.org for open hours and special event dates. Please take time this year to enjoy this wonderful village treasure. Visiting family members, class reunions, and student groups have raved about the interesting and unique artifacts, photos, and documents available for all to see.

The Waverly Historical Society is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization dedicated to preserving and displaying items of historical importance for the education and enjoyment of all interested visitors. Contributions (which are tax deductible) can be made online at www.waverlymuseum.org
